The Federal Reserve Chairman (formally, the Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, often referred to informally as the Fed Chairman) is the “active executive officer” of the {federal reserve}. The Federal Reserve Chairman is the public face of the Federal Reserve, responsible for reporting the Federal Reserve’s {monetary policy} to Congress and to the general public. The Chairman is appointed by the president to four-year terms, and can be reappointed an unlimited number of times.
