The U.S. Supreme Court rules by a 5-4 vote in Texas v. Bidenthat the Biden administration may rescind a Trump-era immigration program that forces certain asylum seekers to await approval in Mexico. Writing for the majority, Chief Justice John G. Roberts Jr. said an immigration law gave the president discretion to return migrants arriving by land to the country from which they came. But that discretion, he said, did not amount to an obligation.
